Skies of Arcadia. In my book, it is tied for first place for greatest RPG of all time; released first on the short-lived Sega Dreamcast and then re-released for Nintendo's GameCube with bonus content, this game has everything: pirates, exploration, adventure, memorable characters, an immersive storyline, snappy dialogue, and ship-to-ship combat. Truly, what more could you ask for? (Well, a sequel comes to mind, but only if it could live up to, or exceed the high marks of its predecessor...)
'Bombardment' is one of two battle themes played when you engage enemies in ship combat. The way it works was actually quite innovative for its time; later titles like Final Fantasy X would follow a similar turn-based style to great success. You know a game's good when you intentionally engage in optional combat just to listen to the music and sink enemy vessels.

Valuan Flagship? Bah! Battlestations, me hearties; this here Talk Like A Pirate Day special edition o' Amat-arr Extension Theat-arr Two somethin'-or-oth-arrr be too important to let fall into their hands! Cap'n Alkahest, ready to wreak air battlin' havoc... begin the bombardment, ah-hahaha-harrrr!
Released in Japan under the title of 'Eternal Arcadia', Skies of Arcadia follows Vyse, a daring young swashbuckler who dreams of setting out on an adventure to explore the incredible air-centric world of Arcadia. But when he finds himself caught between the twin fires of Valua's invincible Armada and immense living weapons from ancient times, called Gigas, will Vyse and Co. emerge triumphant, or be sent to the crushing black abyss beneath the clouds...?
'Bombardment 2' is played during ship battles with Valuan Admirals and their flagships, or the horrifying weapons of old, known as the Gigas. It is a suitably epic theme for skirmishes that will decide the course of Arcadia's history -- if indeed it will continue to have one at all. But Vyse isn't sweating it any; after all, he has you to help guide him through these difficult battles, and secure victory. Happy sailing, mateys!
Ahh... and so our TLAPD five-part special comes to an end. I'll be missin' an excuse what to talk all pirate like without bein' stared at more than I usually am, ahahaharr.
